My word!! I guess I have always taken it for granted that people with horses just knew that it was something that needed doing regularly..
Are you a farrier/trimmer? I see you're not based in the UK!
There is another horse in my lad's field and there are very very similar (apart from white...
DragonSlayer - the mind boggles..I think I would have given a similar response to your OH!
Casey76 - I can't understand this either. I have everything written in a diary and even then I look at my horses feet everyday so I know when he's looking like he could be seen soon anyway.
I'm on DIY and pay the same rate year round. This is for stable and field rent as well as use of services which I have full access to all year. If you do not have full access to your stable I would expect a price reduction. I tend to keep bits and pieces in my stable over summer e.g. wheelbarrow...
He saw the funny side but he definitely didn't go fetch the horse in!
Similar (though not quite the same) when people book a lesson with their instructor but turn up 10 mins before lesson to catch, groom and tack up the horse meaning the instructor is then stood around waiting.
Hehe I knew a lady who was new to pony loaning and on her first farrier visit was shocked at the process and kept making shocked noises at everything. In her defence though she asked the farrier lots of questions and seemed relieved that the pony wouldn't actually mind the farrier trimming and...

I'm always mortified if he's turned up early and gotten him in! Like I said (and some of you also do the same) I like him to be in and ready to be seen with clean feet.
She is not new to owning at all.. I certainly would never say anything like that to a new farrier (nor would I ask my...
I've known my farrier for many years and occasionally he will be early and rather than waiting he will go and catch my horse if he knows where he is. It's not something I have ever asked him to do and I'm mega grateful yet embarrassed cos I feel I look a bit lazy!
Anyway he was out today and...
Searching for a decent pair of everyday riding gloves. I'm inbetween a 7 and a 7.5
so am I better off getting an ever so slightly snug 7 and hope they will stretch or an every so slightly not snug 7.5 and hoping they will not stretch!
I'm still looking for a favourite as I seem to have to compromise on something somewhere.
I use Derby House (the breeches are fab and often have sales on them and I ca pick them up for £20 every now and then), Vio - vet, Hope Valley Saddlery, Ride Away, Naylors, Equestrian Clearance...
