Ah, how wonderful! Thanks so much for this. What kind of era are we talking here? I can’t imagine anyone riding a trotter in Victoria Park these days. Or ponies in shoreditch terraces! I rode at Lee Valley as a youngster :)

Yup, from my digging I figure it was the Old Southern Railway Stables. Apparently they tried to knock it down for a development. But now it’s staying put! Might go and have a look at it one day...

Ooh! :) Is that on the line up to Herts from High and I via Finsbury Park? I’ve heard there are a lot of yards up that way. In terms of cost - is it a bit cheaper further out of London - at least to cover for the travel?

That ride sounds dreamy and hair-raising in equal measure (my kind of riding!) I live in North London, between Islington and Camden.
