That's interesting to hear- have you got the 2.5 or the 3.0l version ?
Yes, apparently the older models were rather underpowered. I think Ford has made an effort there to improve the performance. However, it's still lighter then a old Disco, so probably not quite as stable.
I did try a quick test in a new 3litre double cab version which a nearby garage had on...
