Tried loose ring waterford bit and horse hated it !!

Works for some horses though, can't generalise that they will all find it nasty. How about chunky rubber mullen mouth pelham with converters and a curb guard?

Young Horse Getting Tongue Over Bit

Ugh. Such an annoying habit. Have you had teeth checked? My lad does it a bit as he's just a very mouthy sort of chap in general, but it really kicks up a notch when it comes around to teeth doing time. He's ridden in a Sprenger Ultra Snaffle (the gold one with the lozenge/roller combo) and I...

    Moving to Ireland

Cortez, I understand that it is not allowed on all land but it is not a foregone conclusion - permits can be procured and the forestries are lovely places to ride. Agree with the above quoted about Kildare; it is very horse-friendly indeed - arguably the equine capital of Ireland?? North...

Riding school - having to give the horses a good boot??

I can't say I completely agree with the comments re changing schools. There is a school where I keep my horse, and the riding school ponies will usually need "a bit of a boot" to get them moving in the more novice/intermediate lessons. However, put an experienced rider/livery on them, who can...

    Illegal dressage tack alternatives!

Ditto back, tack and teeth - so very much to the teeth!! Big fan of the drop; I've tried the flash/grakle alternatives and found with my guy (high head carriage, uneasy mouth, carries tension in the undercarriage of his neck/jaw) that he likes the drop - i don't have it cranked shut, just so...
