That's kind of the timescale I'm working on too - aiming to start jumping him again at the end of the year, which will be 10 months since the injury. My vets have been pretty optimistic from the outset, but I'm not sure how much of that is them trying to cover their backs in terms of the...
Hmm, mine was the same - no lameness but swelling and a small cut, was diagnosed for first two weeks as infected mud fever :( Vet told me to keep on with getting him fit for our first event and work him daily to get swelling down - so we did a session on the gallops with a bust suspensory...
Thanks....this is really interesting. I wish my vet had given me such a prescribed programme, I've had to very much design it myself and ask for his sign off.
So your programme is to add trot only once at an hour's walking?
How are you doing the laser therapy? I'm really tempted to try it...
Hi, doing a bit of a straw poll in terms of rehab programmes for suspensory injuries.
My gelding injured the external branch of his right hind suspensory in late Feb (4 months ago), it was quite a clean vertical 'cut' on the ligament as a result of a kick. He's been treated with PRP (plasma...

Posting in comp riders because he is a comp horse, and you lot always seem to have good answers :)
Harley was kicked on his right hind suspensory branch about 2 months ago, so we're in the depths of box rest and in hand walking at the moment. He is 99% fine, doesn't have any issues in the...
Has anyone managed to hire one of these? Looking to move box resting horse to a pen in the field, and not sure how I can get one of these. Not really looking to buy one as I'm desperately hoping this is a short term. Based in Surrey.
Munstead and Tweseldown are both lovely, Tweseldown especially has had a lot of work done on it this year, and their 'schooling field' is great for babies.
LMEQ has always offered a decent choice for babies, and it's all in a relatively small enclosed space. You rarely get it to yourself though...
Ha, I didn't want to mention that part but yes he is not unpleasant to look at! It made me even more conscious of sobbing uncontrollably at his desk :D
I've just had a look - the vet doing the lecture was Andy Fiske-Jackson, who worked on my other horse when he was undergoing lots of CT scanning and diagnoses. I have a lot of time for him, he's an excellent vet.
Ah I think the opposite for him....he is very chilled in the box generally, and seems to enjoy watching the comings and goings. He's been in for two weeks now and haven't once seem him anxious or stressed - just a bit bored and inclined to nibble on me for entertainment. There are other stables...
