I got my replacement cannistes, which unfortunately don't have any distinguishable markings, other than "Made in Hungary" on them. I suspect they're the Liss ones. Did do some research locally though and found 88g Crosman or Umarex canisters for air rifles that should fit. May give that a whirl.

Oh, that sounds like bad construction imho. Anyway, if the canisters have a branding on them I will let you know, but I have a faint feeling they will be unmarked. They're still coming out at 12 quid each for me... but they're over 20 to buy here normally!
