I am planning on showing my horse this year in show hunter classes at county level. This will be the first year that i have done showing properly so does the horse need to be affiliated/registered? If so would this be the case for search for a star as well?

This is what i am thinking about doing with my mare too, although i will be keeping the fronts on. She is a pain to shoe also and like you i mainly ride on a surface or hack at weekends if no shows but we do not need to touch road to get up to ridgeway so my farrier has said she should be fine...

Just wondering when you do your last clips as i have always thought that after January the summer coat doesn't come through as well? Does anyone clip after January?
I used to have a mare who was a nightmare when in season, i couldn't do a thing with her. I tried many things and then put her on Stroppy Mare suppliment and it worked a treat, a lot better than the more expensive one's!
Ride and relax works great for my horse over the winter when she is not doing as much work. I put her on it this year and she has been very relaxed withour losing her spark! Definately recommend
I know how you feel. I have to sedate my horse to be shod which is costing me a fortune! I have tried everything and when people say i need to train her to accept it i find it very hard to think of any new ways to do this. I would say that you need a confident farrier/clipper etc as my mare...
