I'm with the Nfu and it's costing me more than my car insurance! So I'm also looking at changing this year too. One thing I have found with some companies is that you only get £1500 in vets fees rather than the £5000 you get with the Nfu - worth ****** all in my eyes with the rising cost of vets...
Bigger necks for welshies! I'm sure they're all designed for skinny horses! I dislike clips at the front - buckles are better! Clips get attached to haynets!
never thought of that! only bought the big one cos i knew he'd smash the small one within minutes! I'll find a tyre from the farm & give it a try! thanks!
Thanks! He's been out all the time until having to come in last week with mud fever - although he's still getting turned out in the school. I really hope it does reabsorb as I want to continue showing him.
Tried searching & there's so many pages! Just wondered what methods everyone has used - what works - and what they cost?! I've got a 3yr old with one & I've been using radiol b-r bone embrocation & I'm just waiting for the blistering to heal so I can see what's underneath - I'm not sure whether...
:D glad about that! was starting to feel a little thick or that i'd read it wrong! :D have a look at bossys bibs too! they're super shiny but thin but they should work too & save your shoulders too! :D
wilsha can see the link now! that's the bib! Am i right in that it's the base of your horses mane? and he's not in a full neck turnout - just a standard neck?
haven't got any pics i'm afraid! think derby house sell the weatherbeeta vest tho! try the hood in the field or buy a cheap one off ebay to test it first! obviously not waterproof tho! probs why they're not designed for turnout use!
Don't know if they're designed for turnout use but I use bossy bibs under my boys rugs! Think they're about £18 & they have a loop to attatch front strap through. I use mine for 24/7 turnout for the last few months & it hasn't rubbed, slipped or died!
what about a anti-rub vest? these sometimes help especially the padded ones for wither protection! my boy is really odd! I lose his mane in a 'standard' neck yet he can live in 'full' necks with no problems! I think it's weatherbeeta or similar for the vest another alternative is to sow an old...
