    Advice please regarding livery fees

I'm so very pleased for you. Must be a big relief. Good luck to you on your new yard x

Nevous riders, do you ever feel like giving it all up?

Whereabouts in Essex are you Lauren? Is there someone who could walk alongside you when you hack out? Perhaps with a lead rein on? Just some time with the pressure taken off you could be all you need to regain your confidence?

    Advice please regarding livery fees

Bless your heart. She sounds like a really nasty piece of work. However, I strongly suspect she is full of cr*p regarding her threats. I'd personally tell her that you've been contacted by a friend who is moving to the area and that you've recommended her yard in the new year! It may ease the...

    People on working livery...

Not at all out of order to say no. If the RDA were to use your horse for the nativity and then increase use thereafter it would be even more difficult to call a halt to this as he would then be factored into their schedule. You had a loan agreement when you put your horse into this arrangement...

Drama continues.. and feeding advice please?

What a nutcase! I'd move yard as soon as possible, not tell anyone where you've moved to and advise the new YO that if she ever turns up she is trespassing and should be shown off the premises Immediately.

    Advice please regarding livery fees

Hello so glad you have found a new yard to move to. Your previous posts about having to feed the YOs horses as well as your own was really distressing and I'm so glad this will all be behind you next week. If you paid for two weeks when you moved on, I would probably consider this a fair notice...

    I feel terrible :(

How horrid for you. It does seem wise for Ben to be kept on his own until he can be gelded. Can this happen very soon, or is there a medical reason to postpone this any longer? Whatever has changed his behaviour, there is absolutely no need for you to feel guilty for the situation. Ben is a...

OK to change routine from day to day?

Whether you stick to a routine rigidly, have a flexible routine or no routine at all, I've come to the conclusion that horse owning is a road paved with feeling guilty alternating with a sense of huge happiness and well being when you've got it right. Our horse is kept at home, her field is 20ft...

Have i made a big mistake??

What an un settling start for you. a six year old cob is very young, and whilst they are a brilliant first horse, you've picked a breed who are well known for their physical strength and also their huge strength of character - I've got one too! I agree with everything other posters have said...

    Tub trug sizes...

I found some of the large trugson special offer at our local tesco recently and stocked up, can't remember how much off the top of my head, but know they were about half the price of the horsey shop. Think they have silver or dark green

    Aaaaaaaaaaand so it continues . . .

This. Absolutely agree. If the YO agrees to bring your horse in if this ever arises again, for a small fee, then the game, if there is one, is brought to a swift end, and you will have peace of mind.

    Oh god... It's raining again...

So glad I put my girl in early yesterday. Such a blustery rainy night but this morning the sun has come out and her field is sparking and fresh. She's rested and warm with a big pile of hay to much through. You can't beat the feeling of satisfaction when your horse is happy!

    Oh god... It's raining again...

Our girl came in at two this afternoon. She had had quite enough of the rain for today and had an early night and a large Haynet. Gave her a whole swede in her stable for the first time today too, will be interesting to see if she has worked out what it is ...

    Rugging--help please.

My hairy cob is rug less. I did try rugging her during the heavy relentless rain we had in late summer but she hated it. She stops moving around when she wears a rug and stands like a morose dinner lady in a tabard until the offending item is removed. During bad weather she goes rug less in...

    Crib Biting

Are you using the paint on stuff or the thick waxy stuff? I found the paint was not effective but the waxy stuff worked a treat. Also would suggest a stable toy to distract.
