I'm a size 6 & have short skinny legs & need new boots. Was going to have a look at the kids ranges as lots now go up to a size 6 & are nearly half the price of the adult boots. The Brogini ones look quite nice!
I'm looking at different options for lighting my arena & have come across Equestrian Lighting who offer LED lights on retractable poles. They look good & I was just wondering if anybody had them & if they were easy to use & gave enough light?
I run a small livery yard & while the hacking round us is OK, if we had access to some of the headlands round the arable fields in the area, that would be fantastic. Before I approach the local farmers, I wondered if anyone had done something similar? I know there are restrictions if the farmers...
I've also been looking for a nice small TB stallion to put to my ID mare. The stallions at Langeller stud look promising. Does anyone have a foal by Kings Point at End House Stud?
I cored a small apple, used the top & bottom of the core to make a bung & put the antibiotic powder in the middle. It worked the first couple of times & then he just refused to accept apples for a while!
There used to be a yard within walking distance up the hill from the Birks halls of residence & the Uni team used to train there but that was 15 years ago........ Might be worth dropping an email to the Uni riding team & asking them
If you can, try a different saddle. I had a spooky mare for years & never had a problem sitting her spins so was quite surprised to find myself sitting on the floor the first time my new horse had a big spook. Have changed the saddle to a more supportive jumping saddle & feel a lot more secure now!
We've got an electric shower in the wash box. Only installed it this summer so will see how it copes with the colder weather but it's survived the first few frosts. We've extended the hose & it's got a garden hose head on it. It's great & the horses love it!
I used Equestrian Fencing - Dan owns a timber yard near Southampton so does stables as well as fencing. Very reasonable prices & everyone comments on how nice the stables look
TBB - can you change the pressure on the nudge then? I've got them in my stables (I wasn't at home the day the builders fitted the stables as they're not the automatic drinkers I would have chosen) & the horses drink out of them & I know they nudge them sometimes but if the bowl is empty they...
Luckily the oak trees are in the corners of my fields so easy to fence off but hurricane force winds had me picking acorns up from all over the field - hopefully they will all be gone soon!
Hi, we're setting up a livery yard & I could do with an accountant who can help! Does anyone have any recommendations for equine specific accountants or any good firms in the SE (we're on the Surrey / Hampshire border).
