I shared a couple years ago, before I bought B.
Looking back on it it was a rip off!! I paid £120 a month, for use three times a week (although in the winter it was pretty much as often as I liked) plus 50% of shoeing. I had arrange and be there for him getting shod, plus had to feed everyone...
Jumped B both days at the weekend as I had people up to see him.
Saturday he was good, popped a cross pole twice and then jumped it as a straight (about 1ft 6 - thats the highest we're doing at the mo) He took a flying leap at the straight and I'm sure he gave it plenty air as it felt like a...
I'm in the process of getting a sharer for B. So I know what your going through! But I think I might have found the perfect people! (a mother and daughter combo) I'm def going to write up an agreement and going to be up at the same time as them until I feel confident about letting them have sole...
B is out during the day and in at night, but during the summer he'll live out 24/7.
We mainly hack, but I take him in the school at least once a week (mostly to force myself to jump!)
The school is an indoor one.
And yes, if he's more than just a little damp, he gets a cooler on and gets to...
hmmm... not quite sure what it says about all of you who were taking the mick out of the relationship I have with my pony. Surely it should be about a partnership not a 'do as I say' dictatorship.
And GTs, since when did giving a horse a hiding solve anything?
sounds like my boy. But yeah, you have to take into consideration what they've done, how old they are, what height and build.
My lad is only 13.2hh and is a man in his prime shall we say! lol! I paid £1000.
I paid £1000 for a suposidly 19yr old (turned out he was 24ish!) 13.2hh welsh x gelding. He came with saddle, bridle, martingale, stirrup leathers, stirrups, girth, numnuh, lightweight turn out rug and fleece cooler rug, oh, and head collar and leap rope!
He'd been pony clubbing for many moons...
have to say I have more of a partnership with my pony than a 'I am the boss, what I say goes' relationship. We discuse things and come to a decision thats good for both of us. Sometimes he likes to choose the route we go on a hack, sometimes I do. Sometimes he asks if we can have a canter...
B would have done his very best to get to them!! he'd have been spinning and running backwards when I held him back! And most likely threw in a buck or two for good measure, he doesnt like being held back!!
And he's 25! so I think your 3 yr old sounds like a little star!
Have to say I let B stand still when he poos. He doesnt poo and walk in the field, so why should he when he's out? (but genrally he doesnt poo or pee when being ridden! saves it all for when we get back!)
But I agree about the traffic build up. I always dart into a drive way to let cars past if...
he certainly knows how to put my mind at ease!!
I've been really worring about getting someone to part loan him, thinking things like 'what if he likes them better?' 'I dont want him to give his kisses to anyone else!'
I had a woman come and meet him and have a little shot today. I rode first...
B is 25 and has cod liver oil as he is a little stiff in his hind legs. But I havent noticed any stiffness since he's been on it. (he also gets a veteran mix, which has added vits and mins and glucosomine in it) And he is ridden at least ever other day, never with two days off in a row as he...
