We have lost the use of our lorry but my husband has a ford transit flat bed that i can use to tow large ivor williams trailer. I am only towing a 15h horse . Does anybody else have any experiences of towing with these please . Any comments greatly appreciated. I don't want to use it if it's an...
My boy was a rig when I brought him, and was awful (didn't know until I got him home for a few days). He was very aggressive, biting, striking, rearing up and boxing at you while leading him. Went out with a gelding in the field when we didn't know he was a rig and he tried to kill him. Tried to...
I own a welsh part bred who went down with metabolic lami last year. He has been back in work for just under a year now, and is working quite hard. He is worked 6 days a week schooling 4 of them for up to 50 mins elementary/low level medium, and hacks up to 2 hrs twice a week. His energy levels...
Totally agree with the above comment .My boy had laminitis last year and i think once you go thru that you are forever careful .He has a standard muzzle like webbing stuff and we have sewed some old dressage bandage around all edges so it doesn't rub. He has it on all the time and as above i...
Our boy spent most of last year on box rest with steroid induced laminitis so we couldn't do the treat bit.My daughter made him a hanging coca cola bottle thing. He loved it was biting it and rubbing on it and occasionally the odd coke bottle would fly over the door which was funny ,
it happened to our welsh. Super fit pony -a very good weight in hard work . Had steroids for stifle and spent march to nov last year on box rest with severe laminitis . I would never use them again after seeing the state my poor boy was in it's heart breaking. You could try clipping and a good...
If he is iinsured i would def x ray ,as you then have a comparison if it happens again . Otherwise if it does flare up again which is possible you will not know whats going on in feet.My boy does not go out without a muzzle i'm afraid it's that or not go out .Hope your horse is ok :)
Just to add that the grass at moment is sugar rich as seems to be later this year owing to our rubbish weather. The shorter the grass the worse it is really as they are straight to the sweet bit .My horse goes out for 4 hrs max now but at thw start of his recovery it was half hour
My horse had this from a steroid injection . He was put on metformin as some days he would be better than others and made a complete recovery . Have you had your horse tested ?.If you havent that is the next step when there is no pain .I am ever careful . My horse is muzzled ,soaked to death...
Does anyone recognise either of these foals? Comanche is the first one coloured colt when sold from Talley in Wales by Williams family. Second is Indian runner another coloured colt when sold. I didn't breed these foals my self so not sure exactly what year they were foaled in but it would have...
Manuka honey is being used more and more for things like this and even recognised by some vets . It has amazing healing properties and sticks well would be ideal on this area .
Does anyone know if electrolytes are ok to feed when horse has previously had laminitis .??? Brought some yest and noticed they contain dextrose and some sugars .
