    Major Oak travel buddy.

That's great! Which riding club are you with? We're only doing the 16km; it's the first time we're boxing her to an event, so just an easy one to see how things go. Hopefully the 32km next time around though!

what bit do you ride your arabs in?

The Micklem multibridle can also be altered for three different bitless configurations, too - "mild", "medium" and "strong". In fact it seems to do just about everything.

    Dental Power Tools Pros/Cons

Yeah, it made sense to me when he said it too. I can imagine the sensation in my own mouth. She still has her wolf teeth, which are actually quite sensitive, and his main concern was potentially catching one of those whilst he floated by hand.

    Dental Power Tools Pros/Cons

Our dentist has used power tools and hand tools on my mare. In fact he used the power tools on his first visit! He says he prefers to use them as he can get a better finish, although on his second visit there was a distinct lack of accessible plug socket, and so he hand-floated her teeth. It...

    Individual Turnout

My mare's turned out in her own paddock all year round. At her previous yard she was out with two other mares, but she suffered at the bottom of the pecking order and came in on numerous occasions with scratches and scrapes. Now she's on her own she's much happier. Even if all other horses are...

Most ridiculous horse names you've come across....??

My childhood friend's pony was called Fred. I now know two big TBs called Jenny and George. Why does this happen!?

Share your weekend achievements - large or small!

We managed to walk over a filled ditch of very large, loose cobbles/pebbles. Going second probably made the situation worse, as the clatter of the first horse going over made her very anxious to tread on them! It only took six attempts, at which point she crept onto them and realised they...

    Beginner show jumping in Notts

Trent Valley is definitely a good place to look. Arena UK isn't too far away either, being in Lincs (near Grantham). They hold a lot of competitions there, including indoor XC (as well as outdoor!), and they have their own riding club.

what bit do you ride your arabs in?

I ride Tilly in a bitless (Dr. Cooks), with a running martingale. We don't have many issues with a high head carriage unless there's something particularly fascinating occurring over the hedge! My mum's Arab's ridden in a french link, and he's sweet as a nut in it.

    Endurance in South Nottingham

Ok, thanks! It is that one, yep - the 16km PR. It'll be her first box-and-ride event, so I don't want to push her too much :)

That would be super! It'll be really nice to meet new people to go to these things with :)

    Endurance in South Nottingham

Aww! All the excitement happens in North Notts! I can only arrange transport for event dates at the moment, otherwise we could manage something. Do you think you might be able to make it over to Sherwood Pines in March? :)
