In situations like this you can only really go on the feedback rating for the seller & hopefully things will be ok.....you could always email a few of the buyers & ask them about how it performs & you wil get a better idea because some leave feedback before the clippers have been used....give it a go, you can't lose anything

Additionally you could email a company like Peasridge & ask them about repairs, replacement parts, blades etc because if you can't get parts etc then they won't be any good to you.

I have GTS clippers that I got from Ebay for £120 posted... they are identical to Liveryman Arena clippers, same accessories, same box, same instructions, everything! Just with a diefferent name on the clippers!

I ahve clipped 4 horses so far this year and they have been great, I see no difference from clipping with them to using my friends £260 Liverymans....

I just bought the Dextella ones for £100 and I am so pleased with them!!!

I was paying £50 to my yo per clip after mine went bust and with a cob it just wasn't making sense so I just thought ah what the hell. If they are rubbish then it isn't the end of the world. But they are fab!!!! They went straight through my boys feathers and hogged him just as well as any top brand clippers and his hair grows back very thick and fluffy and it went through it all so easily I couldn't believe it! Best £100 spent!!

I bought the Dextella ones too....seem good to me. Clipped my horse no problem. I guess they are OK if you only have 1 or 2 to clip....dont know how long they will last, but then again you dont know how long any of the makes will last. If these last me a few years I'll be very happy !!
BTW, In my opinion £50 is a daft amount to pay anyone for clipping a horse... even for a full clip.

Did I ask for an opinion on the price I paid? When that is your only option before buying new clippers you have to take it, my horses comfort comes first. He is also the only person I would trust clipping my horse with his clipping issues so an extra £10 isn't much to ask.

It isn't a rip off when you know your horse is in safe capable hands. He is a big beast of a maxi cob and the lot comes off of him. Local freelance clipping people charge around £40 inc travel for this and would require me being there. I don't have the time for this and weekends we are out competing so again no time. He is not the best horse to clip and can be naughty so I think £50 isn't too bad especially knowing that my yo will take all the time he needs and be sympathetic towards my horse. The extra £10 is worth that piece of mind.

Daisychain - not offended at all, prices for everything horsey vary so much around the country I probably pay £1 more for a bale of hay then you do. I just don't see why SteveD had to put in his bit and use the word 'daft' when his opinion wasn't asked or even relevant to the conversation but that would be men.

i dont think she did ask anything actually ??

I have seen these clippers in action not bad at all for £100 !! i would go for it, they are quite noisey but most big clippers are.

and off topic but i dont think £50 is that that bad for Full Clip + Cob feathers + Hogging, with no owner required to be there, plus when the horse is not the easiest in the world to clip (no offence to the big lad)... i can't see you'd get that for anything under 40/45 quid and sometimes its not worth quibbling over £5-10 when you know your going to get good safe service!!
