This is my budget.

What is the best dog food available that works out a maximum of £25 for 15kg.

I appreciate your assistance.

You could look into brands like Skinners, Autarky, Gain etc. Age/size/breed/activity level would help others advise you.
Independent stores often have off-label/unbranded stuff which is the same/as good as the brands, ingredients wise.

I did see CSJ which seems to have quite a good reputation? But it seems so so cheap! I did like the look of skinners for ease of purchase. My local tack shop sells it. Harringtons again is easy to get hold of. It's on special offer on zooplus atm.

Which is best of them three though?

The very cheap csj is not fabulous, but you could get their grain free or complete tripe both of which are pretty good.
Basically, look at the ingredients list, I want to see some actual meat pretty high on the list first and foremost when I'm deciding what I want

Quick look at skinners, there is no actual meat, just meat meal and it's only half way up so you're paying for a lot of cereal and grain.
Additionally I know a lot of dogs mine included get squitty on rice
Harringtons is also meat meal not actual meat.
Csj does contain actual tripe, and its first listed with a % but also has rice, however if your dog is ok with rice that's not an issue.

Csj is cheap because it's working dog food so no vat, they dont advertise, and the packaging is pretty basic. They're a small business so what they make is theirs you arent paying a load of middle men. Personally, on your budget theyll do a better quality food than the rest mentioned but it's slightly harder as you either have to order direct - delivery is same for 1 bag or 2, or find a stockists. I've used them pre raw and they're great to deal with, prompt knowledgeable etc

I'd recommend Skinner's, I did look at getting csj and I think it actually looked a bit better quality but couldn't be faffed with the delivery so have just stick with Skinner's and had no issues.

I'd say Skinner's is the best of the bunch in your price range. Harrington's meat meal only contains a small amount of the meat it's labelled as, so you have no idea what the rest of it, which is a problem if your dog is sensitive to chicken and beef, for example, as mine is. Also bear in mind that if fresh meat is used instead of/as well as meat meal, fresh meat is about 2/3 water, so by the time you factor that in, the kibble may well be very low in meat, and you want as much meat content as possible for the price. That will certainly be the case in the low-mid price bracket, like your budget. There's nothing wrong with meat meal, it's just dried and ground meat.

I like the Skinner's duck, lamb or salmon with rice, it has suited all my greyhounds which have "sensitive" digestion! I recently discovered Dr John lamb and rice hypoallergenic, and if anything it's better for my dogs digestion than Skinner's. It's cheaper too - soimetimes as little as £18 for 15kg from Amazon, but their prices constantly fluctuate. You can also buy it direct from Gilpa, the manufacturer, for £22 or 23. I don't rate the cheapest Dr John varieties, which are based on wheat and chicken. Wheat is probably the worst grain for dogs, and many are sensitive to it, ditto chicken. Also chicken has high antibiotic residues, and far too high a ratio of omega 6:3 which promotes inflammation, and thus health problems and degenerative diseases.

I really rate Autarky white fish and potato, one of the best foods in the price bracket, but it's around £30 for 12kg. There's very little in there to cause a problem for the vast majority of dogs. It gets a very high rating on allaboutdogfood.co.uk - an excellent website, which rates virtually all the dog food brands available. It has loads of very good articles on dog nutrition too. It also has a dog food selector tool which is brilliant, you can select according to price range, ingredients etc.

I can't edit my last post, but have since found that you can get 12kg Autarky white fish and potato from Time For Paws for the excellent price of £23, or 2 x 12kg for £42. It's such a good food, better than the other suggested brands, that personally I'd give it a go at this price before trying others. You could buy one bag to see if your dog likes it (if it's fussy - mine isn't, and would happily eat any cheap rubbish kibble!) and it suits it, and then buy 24kg, which works out at £1.75 per kg, only slightly more than 15kg at £25, which is £1.66 per kg. You'd be hard pushed to find anything better for the price, and has a decent fish content of about 30% too (it's mostly fish meal, not fresh fish that's mostly water). If a food doesn't state lamb, fish etc meal it's usually fresh meat/fish and you need to deduct approx 2/3 of the quantity which is water. It then brings the actual meat/fish content down to about 10% in the cheaper kibbles, which is far too low.
