£75 per hour. Where can I have a lesson cheaper?

WOW!! Do you have your own horse??? If so the local riding club will probably set up a program of lessons through them. If not get your own horse!! It would probs be as cheap and you could ride when you like. Ha!

No horse at present :-(
Yes, I would say half an hour will be more than enough to start with. Pilates does sound a good idea - I certainly need some core strengthening!
And ultimately back to owning or at least sharing. Fortunately I have a good OH who is currently a househusband and excellent at baby wrangling!

I live in SW12 so know your geography and have also had lessons at most of the riding schools in your vicinity.
Wimbledon Village Stables, Stag Lodge & Kingston Riding Centre are all probably in the £75/hr range.
Chessington Equestrian Centre is cheaper, but schools are a bit oddly sized. Some of their horses are great, though.
Of the ones mentioned, I too, would vote for Wildwoods; it is a BHS test centre and the owner is very committed to excellence. Horses are good, schools are well-kept. I think if you went there for a series you could probably get lessons for slightly less. I did my Stage 2 training there and I know loads who have done Stage 3 and got their AI as a result. Good luck!

Why not hunt for somewhere that has the horse machine? So you can focus on your position safely and build up strength? Will,be cheaper to start with too!

Just checked...and wild woods have an equine simulator you could start with..!

£75 :O

You could have 2 horses for that! That's very expensive.

I'm in Lancashire and it's around £35 for private lessons.

I wouldn't be paying £75 even for a lesson with an advanced trainer.
