1 year old and broken to ride and drive!!!

Ad reported. Poor wee mite, looking at his back leg practically buckling under the weight of fattie, I went so far as to ask OH how far away Wolverhampton is. Unfortunately if I let my heart rule my head I'd be living as one of those crazy animal hoarders!

Starbucks- we get it you have no sympathy for the pony in this situation. Not based on any reason other than gypsies are not nice to each other or their animals, in which case we should all ignore things like this and get on with other such important things like paying attention to your threads. I think a little empathy on your behalf would not go amiss. If everyone adopted the attitude that ignorance is bliss the world would be a much darker place.

How about why don't you reply to the thread, it's not me, and the person in question is 8 stone - hardly a lump of lard!

If anyone thinks that having a light person sit on a 2 1/2 yo for 5 mins will do him any damage please speak up - that was the point of my thread!

As for this thread - Gypsies treat horses/each other like rubbish. Not sure there is anything we can do about it?

I didn't say the person in your thread was a lump of lard, your question was ' what to do with a 2 yr old cob?' my answer was don't sit on it if you're a lump of lard and I didn't reply on that thread as you asked the question on this one and from what I can see you've already had people comment on your thread that 2 is too young to be sat on.
I'm aware that a lot of gypsies treat horses like rubbish but as supposed horse lovers if we can't be appalled and willing to raise awareness of the plight of ponies like the one in the ad what hope is there for there to be any sort of change in the way horses are treated? If starting this thread means that people report the ad to the revelavant people and they look into it and maybe, just maybe pass the details of the sellers on to welfare agencies and that pony is rescued then I don't see it as a pointless bitching post at all.

TBH I see as many fat lumps happy to ride small horses on here all the time - and that's ok!!

I'm the biggest anti fat people on horses person - but ranting on HHO is so not going to make a difference.

As I used to know the area I am guessing this is somewhere on Pelsall Common.
Poor, poor wee mite. The lad riding it is too heavy for it. The saddle looks too big. The bridle is too big and the noseband is almost dropping off the nose. I dread to think what the bit is doing :(
The advert is dire, grammar and spelling is atrocious!
Clearly these people need educating academically as well as in animal husbandry too.
But what can we do?
The animal is fed and probably watered as it looks in good condition.
Even though it is quite clear to see that the backing, riding and tacking up of this individual is both wrong and cruel, are there are any laws that could be used against the owner?
If not then the only solution I can think of is for someone to go and buy the poor mite. Make observations of the area and other horses and if concerned report the matter to WHW.

Shocked to see pony so young being broken, I normally just look on the site and don't comment, but this Is getting silly.
