9. more horsey clothes and show gear in wardrobes than normal clothes

So true.....we have 2 calendars on a door in the kitchen....one for family stuff, work shifts etc......the other for farrier, worming, show dates.......

There is a bridle hanging off the bannister, a couple of new rugs in the conservatory next to saddle tree with 2 saddles, assorted muddy footwear and the kitchen closet is full of outdoor coats. There is a carrier bag full of woolly hats and gloves hanging off said closet door......

Hmmm.....

THis is not normal ....is it??

Along with the saddle and numnahs over the landing stair bannister I also have my bridle hung over the door of the spare bedroom and the shelving in there sports an assortment of all seasons hi viz jackets. The spare room has a huge pile of rugs bagged up, my riding boots and various boxes of kit in there.
The kitchen window has the best view of all...rather than looking out on the garden...you are faced with my trailer!

Its my car thats the real giveaway....back seat always covered in an assortment of coats cos of the changeable weather, a selection of whips in all lengths (which always causes eyes to pop!) spare gloves and a number of torches. Put it this way - when I had to take my car in for valeting, he wanted to charge me "extra"!.

btw... bearing in mind the forum - you forgot the various copies of H&H scattered around as well!

The smell of horses in the house, bits of hay on the sheets where i have sat on the bed and took my clothes off before getting in the shower, horse magazines in the loo window, horse hairs in my washing machine, muddy floors, bridles hanging over doors and chairs, hats and crops propped up the wall in various rooms...................he he! Love it

you couldnt tell if my house was horsey only the garage and the car would be a give away till you looked in my wardrobe and its all puffa, toggi, caldene, team gb stuff lol, dublin etc

Assorted tack items hanging on doors, over bannisters etc saddle soap and leather balsaam on the side in the kitchen, boot jack by the back door, pile of dirty numnahs by the washing machine, assorted pairs of boots, hats, scarves and coats, bits and spurs..................assorted leaflets and business cards about feed, bits, saddlers, rug cleaning etc etc on the notice board and a selection of horse books, magazines and DVD's in the living room and bedroom........and right now everything has mud on it no matter how hard you try

1.a car that when anyone non-horsey gets in you have to say 'i'm really sorry, my car smells of wee/poo/hay/all three, but it's not me it's cuz my yard stuff is in the back',
2.a very lovingly patient but getting more pissed off OH grumbling that you were meant to be home an hour ago but you just 'had to do something',
3. OH moaning that you're on 'that bloody website all the time

4. OH issuing protests of why the hell do you need another rug etc you've loads already, then moaning when you try to justify yourself
5. a trail of hay/straw thought the house.
6. your 2yr old neice giving you a distainful look and saying ' ew aunty sarah you smell go shower'. coupled with
7. bank statements showing no money left two days after pay day and that's pretty much my house!!

Vet/farrier/horse dentist numbers by the phone usualy on top of every one elses numbers.
Theres travel boots/saddles/grooming kits/rugs/headcollars everything in my dining room. Well i cant keep it at the yard and we dont have a garage!!
Most of its in the car.

You wouldn't know. My house is a horse free zone, I even get changed in the basement when I finish for the day and everything goes straight in the washing machine.

There may occasionally be a magazine or book lying about to give the game away. OH is fine with all things horsey outside, but inside they start his allergies off so we keep everything out in the barn.

Hmm...three pairs of boots and two pairs of chaps in the hallway, one set very very muddy. Also a bin of old T-shirts and sweaters, a basket with jodhs, and assorted gloves. A fold-down hat-rack that can't be folded down because it's studded with rosettes. A show-shirt and jacket hanging from the coat-rack. Living room has hunting pics and horsey plates on the wall. Pile of riding gear on the bedroom floor. A headcollar that's being repaired, plus a pile of leather-care products, on the desk in the dining room, beside the phone, which is accompanied by business cards of trimmer, etc. Dressage tests, magazines, and books scattered randomly about the landscape. Show schedule attached to the magnet board in the kitchen. Sacks of apples/carrots waiting to go to the yard. Yup, it's a horsey house!

the fact i have taken over the entire spare bedroom with saddle, boots, coats, rugs, and a cupboard in hallway and currently have saddlecloth drying on radiator and gloves and coat on radiator warming for morning!!!!
