13 years ago today.

She was never JUST A PONY, she was your soulmate. You saved each other & I'm sure you have a 4 legged guardian angel watching over you now xxxxx
 
Having recently lost my best friend and soul mate to whom I owe everything, I understand so much how you are feeling. Your video made me cry. You can see just what a great team you were and if I know how much you loved Lucy just by reading your posts then she did too, especially as I am sure loved you back just as much!

You may not have been with her at the end but you gave her the best final years of her life. You gave her a chance to trust and she gave you the same.

RIP Lucy.

I had a 12.2 welsh mountain for 19 years, I wasn't there at the very end, my dad and husband were, I just wanted them to make sure he'd gone and was definitely in the hole and hadn't secretly been taken to the hunt, which he couldn't have done as he was injected so silly of me but I was in a state so wasn't thinking straight, the vet had to witness the buriel anyway.
 
I dont even know you but am proud of you for how you turned that ponys life around, how you let her feel love and how happy you made her!
 
I too am bawling

I wasn't with my boy when he went but I still have vivid dreams about him to this day (and I have another horse as you may have read). My dad was with him when he was PTS, apparently sometimes this is best as distress can easily be picked up by the horse. She knew you and knew you loved her, please take comfort from the fact that you had an amazing relationship, something that some poor horses never have in their lifetime

aww bless you hon. I am not very good at wise or helpful words but I am thinking of you. That pony had a wonderful life, she was loved and cherished. You gave her that. A relationship is a two way street, she was that special to you because you were that special to her. Big hugs xx

I am so glad the video shows just how amazing she realy was. She was such a special girl.

TheEquineOak I love that clip to. It was such a Lucy moment. She fancyed a snack so grabbed some cowparsley on the way passed. My OH was walking along side us and he was in fits of laughter. For the rest of the ride he was picking her some and feeding it to her. :rolleyes: :D :D
 
oh my gosh , tears everywhere , when others offer wine and cookies for reading posts i think you should have offered kleenex :) . what a story and what an amazing pair you are and i say are because she will always be with you , hugs to you sweatheart
 
Huge hugs to you. Made me cry too. She knew how much you loved her and it sounds like you were the making of each other. What a wonderful story, and a wonderful friend you were to her. Take care xxx

I hope so Hun. I miss her so much. I spend many a day holding her ashes and head collar and just crying! I never thought I could ache this much. The day she went was rushed and I had no choice but to let her go but I couldnt be with her. As much as I always wanted to be, the pain and grief took over and I felt helpless.

RIP Jamin and Lucy. Both from troubled pasts but loved til the end. Our lives, our hearts and our soul mates. Xx
