14.2 coblet owners help please?

Morning all

I wondered if you could tell me what size girth your 14.2hh coblet takes, just got new (second hand) saddle through post today and only have dressage and treeless girths. Think i know roughly what size she will be, want to get one ordered off ebay pronto really, so if you could tell me what size girth your coblet takes and state if your cob is of slim line figure or fuller figure at present it would be most appreciated. I will be going up to measure her up later, but as girths are generally cheap as chips i don't mind ordering and having to get another if it doesn't fit, but i think with an educated guess it will be ok

yeah just a standard and he is slightly fuller than wanted but he is losing weight and it fits him nicely sits on 3rd hole on each side

My 14.2 coblet has a 40 something girth I think!!!!!
28 inches is about 2 and a half lengths of a ruler

Unless Im being stupid and working it out wrong

my cob takes a 24" dressage girth and a 46" normal girth!!! 28" sounds very small to me ???

Mine, who's welsh D X takes a 38 inch! 28 sounds tiny

Yeah when my girl was porky she had a 48" I think, so 40 is probably about right

mine is 14hh and takes a 38in stubben string girth....

Mine takes 48" he's very full!!

mine takes a 100cm so 39-40 inch. girth sits on about the 3or4 hole on both sides depending on what numah i have under the saddle

Thanks all, that has helped confirm what size i reckon she is around 40" it seems to be, i will measure her later, am sure when she was a porker it was late 40's early 50's many moons ago

Ok the coblet is 15 h but her girth is now 135cm - which is a 53" girth - we do have bigger.....

Coloured in sig has a 38'' inch but it can go down to a 36'' in winter when he drops a bit of weight. He's a light/middle weight, not a huge amount of bone but not dinky, either

Mine is 14.3hh and a porker and she can squeeze into a 46". She is built like this...

28inch inch cannot possibly be a 'normal' girth? Surely you must mena a dressage type girth???
I had a 15.1 connie x tb who was light weight but had a deep barrel and she took a 46inch girth. She was in no way overweight

Thanks everyone, perhaps i am looking for more of a 38" as my mare sounds similar in size to yours muffinino, plus she does drop weight more easily with age, she is about middle weight at most

In her defence she's a smidge over 14.2hh, extremely deep through the ribs and girth and takes a 46" in winter.

Puss In Boots - to measure her for a girth put saddle on and thread baling twine through the girth hole on one side pass under tummy and through girth hole on the other side. Knot/cut baling twine at the appropriate place and then measure or take to local tack shop to find the girth that fits!!

I use a 48" on Chancer as I hate girths that you have to pull to get on the first hole so prefer something slightly on the longer size.

Thanks slinky, thats a good tip using the baler twine, i will get some out later, i reckon 38" will fit her, will check later when i go up

14.1 coblet takes a 44" girth, 14.3 con x cob takes 46" girth, neither are fat!

My 14.3 coblet takes a 46 inch Atherstone girth, elasticated at one end.

Darcy is a 38 inch or 40. Both fit him comfortably but he is a slim jim!
