What size is/are your field/fields?

well see, i'm sure the fields at mossburn are about 2 or 3 acres each but 14!!! i'm sure YO could have got a slightly smaller field. they really will not even try to refrain from eating it all!

oh i never thought of that! we're gonna have fun getting them back aren't we?

We've got 2.5 acres. Used to be on 9 when on diy, reduced to half that when Baldock bypass was built thru the middle. Now got our own place.

Have to say, this size field is a LOT easier. My horse didn't get the in foal look from the spring grass & he was a million times easier to catch. No more 2 hour games of run away from Tracey...

I have:

2 x half acre paddocks
1 x three acre paddock
1 x two acre paddock which is unfenced right now so no good to man nor beast, as is a further 12 acres.

Mine is about 14 acres for the 3 of them. I'm making a paddock for Chex soon though, not letting him get as fat as last year!

We have about 3 acres for 2 horses, the paddock they are in atm is about half an acre, they are both good doers so they don't need too much grass and I wouldn't be able to catch Shadow if it was much bigger!

My 2 big mares are on around 15 acres, but the 3 natives are on about 2 acres between them with NO grass, they live on fresh air.

Will Blacky be ok on that amount of grass, I'd be worried about laminitis?!

My old paddock was 10 acres! - But then we had between 8 and 10 horses in there. Our mare was always a git to catch, but the farmer who owned the field wouldn't let us seperate it as he keeps bullocks in there too!

I have 2 and a half acres for my boy...which is great in the winter as he never needs hay in the field but in the summer I have to watch it as he is a native. He has just bits to nibble at the moment as he ate it all off at winter and it is not growing because it is too dry...so that suits him fine and keeps him slim.

yeah she'll be fine. she's not prone to laminitus at all and she's in with another 4 who are nearly as fat as her if not as fat

My pasture fields are mostly all 10 acres but I do have a couple of 2-3 acre paddocks aswell.

10 acres, split into two but opened up to all just now - will close down over the summer to reduce grazing

7 horses

good to let them stretch their legs. Pony thinks she's a race horse and does circuits, flat to the floor for twenty minutes at a time and doesn't sweat up. I like to think she's getting herself fit while I go through saddle-fit hell and can't ride...

our field is 15 acres i think (nightmare to find them as its got gorse bushes and hills nd hideaways in!)

there out on it all winter though so its not really been resterd so grass isnt as good as its constantly being eaten
