Hi, we currently loan a 14hh pony who has potential to be top class WHP. Was just curious to the approximate fence height at county and HOYS level. He is a plaited and not an M&M. I was sure someone on here would know, thanks in advance :):) xx

Ponies Uk and bsps rules: open 143 working hunter ponies - minimum height 85cm, maximum height 1m, maximum spread 110.

Hope this helps

Go to the BSPS website to look at the rules, you will have to be a BSPS member to compete in HOYS and RIHS qualifiers. However you don't have to be a member of BSPS to enter 143cm WHP classes at County Shows that are qualifiers for the BSPS Championships - if you qualify you just have to make yourself a member within a week or two or something.

Hope that makes sense..

Hi

I use to do 14hh workers. The novice courses are 90cm and the open courses 1m but championship courses such as the open classes at the BSPS summer and winter championships, HOYS and RI are 10cm bigger and the desert orchid is 15cm bigger. I always found that the indoor winter show courses were much smaller than the summer opens at the county shows.

Here are a couple of photos of my 14h pony doing workers so you can get an idea about the size of the fences:
