I'm working on OH to get agreement to put our sons 138 JA pony mare in foal again this year. She's due on 1 May 07 to Tiny Tim X (prolific and now v elderly jumping pony stallion) and if we breed again I'd like to try and get a larger stallion to try and breed a 138 or 148.

Does anyone know of any really good 148 pony stallions that are available by AI?

Thanks

Maybe.... http://www.sportpony.org.uk/ousbek.shtml or
http://www.sportpony.org.uk/laban.shtml or perhaps even better........

Indian De Here is a lovely 148 JA stallion. He's stunning to look at and is an awesome showjumper. I dont know whether he is available via AI, but its worth enquiring.

Thanks everyone. Will have a look at the links. I had thought of Indien De Here but he was recently advertised for sale so I guess it will depend if his new home (assuming he's sold) plan to combine stud duties with jumping.

I'd thought of the 138 Grey Palace but when I spoke to Jane Whitaker last summer they hadn't taken any semen and now he's sold to a jumping home. He's prob a bit small as well, given he's a small 138 and so is our mare.

I've not come across Ousbek I don't think, unless he's the coloured that was for sale recently that Ellen Whittaker used to ride? Where would I find info about him (other than a goodle search)?

Any other thoughts gratefully received.

what about spotty dot com? No clue if he's at stud but saw him and thought WOW! Think he's stallion? Will have a look.

Spotty Dot Com isn't a stallion and he's had a nasty injury so is living in the field! Anyhoo Georgeo III was the coloured stallion Ellen Whitaker used to ride i saw him advertised for sale a couple of months ago so not sure if he's available for stud

Ah, that's the one I was thinking of! I read quite a story about the sale of Georgio on another forum..

Indien De Here advertised again in H&H today so, unless we win the lottery this weekend, or he goes to someone who stands him then I've had that one!

Thanks for the info on Ousbek. I've now had a look at his web pages and he is clearly a capable boy but I do have some reservations about the substance (or lack of) that the offspring would have as he's arab and Mum is a lw NF.

Off in search of an athletic connemara now..!

ah well. a nice connemara might be good?
what happened SDC?( not that I really really liked him or anything....was sure he was a stallion, oops!)

There are some very nice connemara jumping stallions around both in the UK and Ireland. Try the Connemara breeders website (google it)

I know of one connemara who has thrown great jumpers but he is in Ireland and not sure how easy/hard it is to import semen

R u still interested in pony stallions? I've seen 3 of the stallions mentioned above and can probably find you pictures of some of their foals, as i've bred some jumping ponies myself.
I believe Georgeo (the coloured that use to belong to Whitakers) is going to be standing at same place as Ousbek, my personal preference would be Ousbek all the way thou, he's cool, i've seen him around the shows STUNNING, great nature, very athletic and HUGE JUMP.
