I know it's early, but just heard that my lovely Highland pony has been scanned in foal so crossing all fingers and toes for the next scan before she comes home.

Am I silly to be so excited at this early stage? (It isn't her first)

YAY!

Absolutely thrilled for you. I hope things continue to go well. So.......what will it's name be? What colour are you expecting? What sex would you like? What plans do you have for it?

No, kidding. You have every right to be excited, I would be.

SN..........I know, I know. Not for me to say though.

Can't say who the daddy is yet until I have spoken to the stallion owner...

Colour? The stud think palomino is a possibility, I think it is more likely to be a reddish dun, I don't care what sex it is and if it grows to just under 15hh it could be a very useful WHP as well as being a small dressage horse/RC type.
As for name, i have to register a prefix, then Topaz for a filly or Onyx for a colt (unless it comes out looking like Hercules, then I might reconsider

Ah ha, get your thinking with the names. Hercules? More of a Rock to be in theme perhaps?

Anyway, I'm doing the Gods thingy, not highly original but there you go, Zeus has two babies due that need goddy names.

every year still get that buzz when a mare scans positive at 15 days......... so I think your quite right to be excited......

if anything happens around the corner we just have to deal with that too in our own way......

Not gonna argue - but that does come across as truely bizarre!!!

I only asked, as my YO has Connies, Newfies and Highlands.

You never get fed up of positive scan results - Congrats!

NG yours was worth cracking the bubbly open for after the whole palava to get her infoal!

NG had tried 4 (i thk) stallions at her own yard and not one could 'find the hole'

(experience stallions as well!), she then shipped the mare to me and neither H or 'big guns' could either (good job the mare is a tart!), so she was shipped to the AI centre with H in tow to be AIed - Isa glad I an Ai Tech now and don't have to go running half way up the country at the drop of a hat and it can all be done here (with the help of AP

The amazing thing is that her mare only has one ovary and took first time, even with all the fuss and running up and down the country!
