16.1 in an IW 505?

I’m looking to buy my first trailer and looking for opinions on size. I have a 16.1 IDx and I’m concerned he might be too big for a 505/506. I’d happily travel him alone with the partition out and on cross ties but just looking for others who travel their bigger horses in IW trailers and how roomy they found them. He’s a big horse in the shoulders but end to end is fairly compact. I like the idea of a smaller trailer but would I regret not going larger? There’s one of each model for sale I’m currently considering. Thanks for any insight.

I travel my 16.2 tb in my 505 classic no issues. I also travelled my 17.1 wb built like a tank in a 505 with no issues. There is plenty of room for bigger horses with no partition and as long as they travel well.

Yes- my 16.1 travelled a few times in one, he was just a little confused at having cars up his backside after me always having wagons ?

My 16.1hh (roughly,might be 16.2 on her tip toes) needs a 511. She's a beast though, despite the height. I keep measuring and she hasn't actually grown upwards but I swear she's enormous! I could squeeze her into a 506 probably but it would be too small.

I've travelled up to 17hh in a 505, often two, so with partition.

Thanks for all your replies, much appreciated. I’ve gone for the 510 as it’s a bit newer and I like the future option of travelling with a friend and her horse if we go to camp etc.
