16 & 16.1 HH TB people?

What size rugs do you use? 6ft are too long for my boy so I have a 5ft 9 on order.

my tb is actually 16.2 but he wears 6'6 - 6'9 rugs

Currently using 6.3ft on 15.2hh long backed mare, but in Masta that would be 6.6ft

My TB is a compact 15.3hh who wears 6'3'' rugs unless they come up particularly big in which case we drop down to a 6'. He wears Horseware, Mark Todds etc and 6' 3'' is perfect.

Tilly is somewhere near the 16hh/16.1hh marker and is currently a 6ft rugs but the ever growing beastling is always changing shape.....

well when my horse was 16hh he took 6'3 now he is 16'2 and a bit, and takes 6'6, so guess who has to sell all her rugs and get a different size !

Unless short backed, most TBs of around that height would be in a 6'3" minimum, maybe 6'6".

Probably best to just measure the horse then you'll know for sure.

I have measured him and 5ft 9 seems to be the best fit, he must be really short backed!!

Mine is just 16.2hh and he does have a few 6ft rugs which fit him nicely (I nearly bought a 15.2hh who i intially bought the rugs for - but it fell through)

I think alot of the rug thing depends on how slender they are too and some rugs fit horses better than others

Blimey my little TB mare is only 15.2 and she wears 6ft3 stable rugs and 6ft6 in turnouts!

My 16 hands Anglo arab Mare takes 5'9 or 6ft depending on make and my 17 hands TB takes 6'9

my 15.3 tb has 6'3" rugs, if anything they are a little to long, but 6' would be too short!

My tb lady is 16h exactly and has 6ft rugs...what I have most difficulty with is that rugs fit her good around her chest without pulling on her and don't rub - she has very sensitive skin.

My short backed 15.3 TB takes a 5'9 rug, so yours must be very short backed.

My mare is about 16h (haven't actually measured her!) TB. I find it depends on the make of the rug, I particularly like weatherbeetas on her and 6ft fits great, but horsewear and bucas she needs 6ft3.

My TB is 15.3hh (measure very slightly over) & she takes 6'3". Surprised to hear of a 16hh in 5'9!
