OK, I am sure this will have been asked before so I apologise if it is repeated but I had my mare scanned at 16 days and vet said it was negative so off she went back to the stallion. She has now been back at the stud for just over 3 weeks and hasn't returned so I am starting to wonder about the possibility of my vet having got the scan wrong?
He is a specialist repo vet and scans many mares so it seems that he shouldn't get it wrong but what is the possibility?
My mare is a 7 year old NF pony and this is her first time but before her first covering she was cycling regularly 21 days and stood for 5. Stallion is very fertile so everything seems failrly straightforward (I know this probably doesn't mean a lot!!!
).
I am now reluctant to get her scanned again as if she is in foal I have missed the window for aborting one of a twin, and if he says negative again I will still be unsure!!
Has anyone used the Weefoal method of pregnancy testing?
