16 things riders wouldn't do as demo'd by the fashion industry..

I once went to a full team meeting in work (about 30 people including a b***h of a boss) in full competition gear - cream jods, navy show jacket, leather boots, hairnet, my 'posh' hat, spurs and schooling whip. A colleague bet me £50 I wouldn't have the guts. He never paid up. Part of the bet was I wasn't allowed to tell anyone why until afterwards.

For my sins, I have supplied horses for many photo shoots and the things they expect to be able to do are quite funny, as are the silly girls they get to drape themselves around my patient horses. I have had to get horses up and down staircases, on roofs, in living rooms, through windows, etc. It's intrestin'

Very funny :D

Me and my boy had a brief encounter with the world of modelling through a HHO request. He was the model for Flora Deborah and was in Material Girl Magazine. We spent a cold day on the beach with a terrified French model dressed in the most bizarre clothing who had never sat on a horse before  . I was a bit nervous because TBH I wasn't entirely sure my WB was going to behave and was a bit antsy to start which didn't help with someone who had never had a leg-up before. Luckily when he realised he was being admired and fed endless polos he rose to the occasion :)

Well, I have let my horse graze in her bridle, but it is bitless... And I have crawled between her front legs, which resulted in me also kneeling between her front legs.

Horse in the hallway.......

My first loan pony (only 12'2" fully grown) was a rescue foal and was kept in the back garden at the start to make feeding him easier, so grew up with the dogs and thought he was one. His owners couldn't leave the patio doors open as he'd follow the dogs in and onto the sofa. They've got an incredible photo of him sort of half sitting on the sofa!

To be fair, I used to crouch down and walk under my 17'2's belly in his stable, although normally my high fashion outfit was at the max a Joules top and my favourite Sherwood jods. :biggrin3:
