Hey, I need a 16 inch dressage saddle for a 16.2 tb who is short backed. Have had my saddler out yesterday and the 16.5 wintec isabel werth dressage I brought is not small enough. (Brough her without tack so guessed size, so my own fault lol) however I can not find a 16 inch dressage saddle with horse size pannels only pony! Please help are there any makes that go this small and preferably have adjustable trees like keiffer? Or do I need to get one made? Any help or ideas would be fantastic, cheers

I have a 16inch fusion dressage saddle - the woman who came out to try saddles was great, explained that pony could only take a 16inch but made the seat a little bigger. They were very reasonably priced too.

I bought one yesterday to fit my hard to fit pony so they are defintly around, have you tried Martin wilkinson at all? I'm sure that one isn't the only one especially as pony is in a wide gullet. As said below ideal jesssica are in a 16 and Martin wilkinson had a few others :)

When you say panels, do you mean flaps? The panel is the part that is flocked and is usually directly related in size to the size of the seat.

Specialising in ponies, I do have access to small dressage saddles, but for some adults might need to order a longer flap - most good fitters dealing with a bench made brand (Ideal, Black Country, Baines etc) would be able to spec you a longer flap, though it might look slightly out of balance - that matters not if it suits you! But do bear in mind a standard stock saddle is generally easier to sell than one that has custom options on it.

Yes sorry ment flaps lol, thanks for the info. As long as it fits my horse I don't mind what I looks like, and coz my horse is young and I intend to keep her for life if I can so it won't matter about selling the saddle on. She's more than worth it :-D since this morning I have spoken to two saddlers who are going to see what they can order, and what hey have 2nd hand in stock, 1 master saddler who's going to sort a rough quote for a custom made saddle and ring me tomorrow. And have another saddle company asking bates or wintec whether they can make a 16in isabel for me or what options I can have with their other makes. So hopefully by end of the week I will be able to pick one! Also have emailed about ideal jesica saddles and am awaiting a reply so fingers crossed!
