or so it said on the meridian news this morning.

It didn't say where to go to offer help though.

Can anyone offer a horse / pony a forever home ? Its quite a big ask these days considering the costs of keeping them.

Hopefully some big hearted folk with their own land and / or big balances will help them.

What makes you say that? Having had a little look myself there are a couple of really nice young riding horses there that anyone with a soft spot for a little cob would be glad to call their own. They don't cost any more to keep than a horse that you buy.

I suppose I just thought it would be people who already had horses so extra mouths to feed but yes if you are in the market for a new pony why not.

Ah, I see what you mean :)

I am not in a position to have a horse at the moment, but I will certainly be looking at a horse from a reputable charity when I am. They have some lovely horses and the process that a good charity will go through to match horse and rider makes the chances of getting the right horse and rider combination very good.

On the news (around 6am today) they were reporting from RSPCA, Millbrook Animal Centre, Chobham, Surrey. These equine needing suitable homes must be dotted all around different counties within different charities. It's worth a phone call if you are interested. They mentioned something like.. it costs about £70K to keep a horse for life!
