Text messages all day about 17 horses stolen in Cornwall in the last 24hrs, this must be a guiness book of records entry to get 17 horses in a White transit Van!!!! I phoned the Devon & Cornwall police and they knew nothing about it. This is now getting out of hand with all the messages flying around, when a horse does go missing for real nobody is going to take notice of the poor owner.

i had 10 section A foals in a transit van once...bougt from Abergavenny market in the early 80's..

but thats a different story......

I phoned the police tonight and they did confirm it was true but she didn't know the exact number of horses taken in SE Cornwall. There have been incidents in the Newton Abbott area and across Devon - it is not a hoax so be vigilant! I guess the transit van is doing the reckying?

Thats too close for comfort, I will be padlocking gates and putting up a sign saying : Trespassers will be shot, Survivors will be shot again!

I posted a message at lunchtime. Tack was stolen in Cornwall overnight, but NO horses have been stolen down here! (That is in this end of Cornwall of course!!)
Although, of course, there may have been a few stolen that I have not heard officially about yet!

I spoke to the police at 5.45 p.m Thursday evening and they confirmed to me that horses had been stolen in SE Cornwall but the officer I spoke to did not know how many as the information was not available to her on screen - she said that this is not a hoax and police forces nationally are on alert about this. There have been thefts in Devon too..........

Sorry Lin76 but we got it from the Horse watch WPC officer for the Devon & Cornwall Constabulary whom is a personal friend, she said that it is a hoax and NO horses have gone missing or stolen in the D & C area. I trust she knows her job and is up to date with her info.
