I'm trying to find a hunter trial or one of those sponsored xc pleasure ride thingys to take Jack to on the 17th/18th April to get him out and about and popping the odd rustic obsticle (well that's the idea) does anyone know of any?... I'm rubbish at finding stuff like this as have no clue where to look, is there a good site for these listings?... Has to be this wkend, and in the wilts hants sort of area....

Thanks :)

ETA - Sorry title is supposed to read 'hunter trial/xc rides' but it won't let me edit it :(

I would think its too far for you, but the Cotswold fun ride (Adams Farm on Countryfile) is open that weekend I think.
Also Aston, but thats an Unaf ODE.
xx

not sure if it would suit, but there is an eventer challenge type thing at Rockbourne on 18th April.. course of SJ followed immediately by short XC course.. smallest class is 85cm. let me know if you want more info.

ooh, just found this: Open Hunter Trials, Sunday 18th April. Old Berks Hunt Pony Club. at Wickstead EC, Highworth, Wilts. Classes from 2'3" to 3'3" :)

Ohh yes pls AandK Rockbourne is near me and that might be a good different style thing for him to do, and we can always enter the tiny class have a break then do the bigger one

Have you ever been to Wickstead? Is it nice?... I've just found a hunter trial at Abbotts Woof Farm near Calne but also have no idea what that is like...

never been to either of those places i'm afraid, just found the PC one on a website for South West.
the Rockbourne comp is being run by South Wilts RC. the shedule is on their website www.southwiltsridingclub.org.uk it is the Festival of the Horse Qualifier (there are non-qual sections in each class too).. let me know if you do go to this as i'll probs be there, not to compete but in my capacity as RC team manager! :)

Leyland Court are running Hunter Trials on 18th April http://www.leylandcourt.com/ depending how far you want to travel, shouldn't think it's that far from you as is just over an hour from me and West Wilts EC is 1hr 45 from me so it's about 45 mins from West Wilts if that makes sense

Their XC course is lovely, really inviting, excellent water and steps complex... was there today schooling! It's really convenient from the M4, you come off for the M5 south and straight away leave the M5 and it's about 5 minutes from the M5/M4 intersect. Very nice place and the PC ODE I did there last September was well run with a good course.

Don't know if you're a member of the unaffil xc course photos group on facebook but when I walked the course I took a pic of each jump and they're on the group, also quite a few photos on my profile in one of the albums from schooling there.

BDRC at Leyland Court on the 18th
As megabeast has said, it's a lovely course :D
I'm taking Lace schooling there tomorrow so will get some pics and then I'm entering her for the hunter trial - only 2'3 though :o

L - how was the going at Leyland court today? I'm hoping they don't decided to close it with all the rain we've had today, I'm 9am tomorrow

The going was excellent there, wouldn't have thought anyone had schooled round it this week as it wasn't at all cut up. Although I was there just before the rain began, started to pour down as we were driving back.
