We possibly have an 18yr old mare coming to us on loan - which insurer would you recommend?

Thanks

Any way I would check to see if said pony is already insured and then stay with the same people just get your name on the policy - we did that for one of my neices loan ponies - as it is easier then getting a new policy for an older pony. Otherwise I would have a look on the Veteran Horse Society website for the best links/comopanies to deal with - most insurers still seem to think 15 is 'old' for a horse/pony and start putting in loads of exclusions.

I take it this for daughter?? piccy's please......

Petplan will give full illness and ijury cover till 25yrs if insured before 20th birthday.. its a bit more exspensive but worth it for extended cover

I've just insured my 18 year old pony with Petplan.....he was 16 when I got him and no insurer would touch him for full vet fees at the time.

His value is £1k and he has up to 5k vet fees, tack cover and PL for £348 a year. His insurance is more than £30 a year cheaper than my Sec D who is 12 and has the same value, he's covered by NFU.
