I am affiliating next year and have noticed that on most schedules they combine the opens and other class the same height eg newcomers but you can only enter one. I was wondering what the difference is and which one I should enter.
Thanks x

Depends on your pony's winnings. Enter Newcomers if they have under £300 notional I think it is and try and get your 4 double clears, if he has more winnings then that you'd have to enter the open section.

The open classes are for horses that are not eligible to jump in the other class as they have won too much money.. so if you have no money on your horses card, you would want to jump the bn instead of the 90cm, disc instead of the 1m open, newc instead of the 1.10 open etc etc..

The opens are harder to win as often you are competing against very experienced horses

You wouldn't be able to enter the British Novice, Discovery, Newcomers or Fox I don't think (maybe fox?)

You'd just enter all the open sections of the class
