1st Hunter Trial - we did it!

Well today I did my first ever hunter trial and to say I was nervous was an understatement - I don't think I slept a wink all night

Got George to the event and he was really really excited as he realised he was at a very fun party

walked and trotted him round for about 20mins and he calmed down loads and popped over the practice jumps no problem

Then it was my turn to go and bless him he cantered calmly out of the start box and we were off! There was a caravan by the 2nd fence and he spooked and we had a run out but he jumped it fine 2nd time, he also ran out at the 3rd when my nerves got the better of me

I then got a grip and he came down a line of 3 narrower and narrower logs like a pro

he jumped the blue barrels I was scared off as if they weren't there! We were then clear around the rest of the course and cantered most of the way

I know the jumps are little, but the whole xc thing was quite a big thing and something I didn't think I would ever have the courage to do, so I am of course thrilled

Ah WOW!

Well done you! Its so nerve racking your first time at a hunter trial - I felt sick at my first one!

I think next time out when you are not so nervous you will win for sure! You both look fabulous!

What a superb acheivement, you should be very very proud of yourself (I know you could not be more proud of lovely george)

Well done, you both look fantastic and George was really enjoying himself wasn't he. You are so much braver than me, I aim to always have one of Ches' hooves on the ground at any given moment!! Is this the start of a whole new career? No stopping you both now
