1st pee in a bucket tonight

Well thanks for all your suggestions yesterday, I took an old washing up bowl down to the stable tonight.

I mucked out her stable and put some used shavings into the bowl. As she came in she sniffed at the bowl and then turned to her usual position, although slightly off to one side of the bowl and then started to pee.

With a swift kick I got the bowl into the line of fire and collected 3/4 of a washing up bowl full - well pleased

Now if I can do that every night, that will save a little bit of work and shavings.

Maybe one day, there aren't any facilities at our yard, I'm sure she would share her bucket

i do this, but i hold a small bucket under the tail. saves tons of bedding! mares tend to be easier about it than geldings, who can be a bit shy! if you whistle when she wees, she'll soon learn to associate it, and do it on demand...!
