I haven't ridden my welsh d for 16 months due to my ill health last year and a very wet winter. Tacked him up this morning and took him for a half hour hack. He didn't put a hoof wrong. Very proud of him and me!!
1st ride in 16 months!!

Well done you! Fantastic morning to be out.
I too had my first ride in 3 months as my lovely mare has been off with injury. We only did 20 mins, but she felt better than ever.

Well done Hanson, I was so nervous every muscle is aching now and I only walked! He did have the company if a lovely connemara who held his hand all the way.

I too was some what nervous as when she is full of herself she is a real strong handful. I was also terrified of the injury still hurting her (torn abdominal muscle), so felt a bit like I was riding a glass horse.
My husband walked our old gelding in hand with us so she had company, can't say he is a calming influence as he is a nutter still, but better behaved in hand than ridden.
Looking forward to the summer and getting back out regularly.
