Rode my pony for the 1st time in 4 months today

He was such a star! It was -5C outside and windy but he didn't batt an eye. Also gave him about a million shocks taking off his fleecy blanket

I'm totally loving the fact that we have a girl leasing him and she happens to be our trainer's working student, not only is he getting trained every other day, but we're getting paid for it!!

Nice to hear that your loan agreement is very beneficial to you! At least you have peace of mind who is looking after/training your horse! My friends have had some terrible experiences loaning out their horses and getting them back worse for wear!

If you don't mind me asking, how come you haven't ridden him for 4 months? I haven't ridden for 5 months and counting.... I have broken my ankle badly

I can't wait to be able to ride again... I dream of riding my Sam-I-Am! I can only imagine how happy you must have been to get on after such a long time! xx

I've been away at uni since September and I hadn't been doing much riding before I left as I share my boy, Harley, with mum and the leasor and any day that I ride is a day that mum can't. Luckily we've always been able to find people to share him on the property. I'd love to keep riding at uni (that way I can actually have a few lessons and not be as out of shape/practice when I go home) but it's just too hard to get to the stables around dublin
