to water the horses - all 10 of them. The Lady still can't get to them, so Iam on hand again. Yard taps frozen, tack room taps frozen so I have been ferrying containers of water from my mums house, using a wheel barrow that has a very dodgy tyre. 2 buckets per horse, and then filling up the trugs in the yard so water is at least on hand for the next 24 hours. It had to be comical, cos if it wasn't then I'd be cursing something rotten! At least I didn't fall over. Meg was very cross with me, as I didn't do her first!!

You might have to encourage her to walk to the the yard and then do bed &breakfast for her because it doesn't look like things will improve just yet!!

It's been very hard hasn't it!
I just rent grazing for my horses, no taps there just a water trough. Well the pipes to that have frozen again and I'm having to fill water containers in my bath, drag them downstairs which is no mean feat and get a friend to drive them up the field for me as I don't drive, then barrow them up the hill to my field and fill the trough. Nightmare!

mmmmmmm time is tough at mo and I guess its time to help each other ot - anyone who cant get to where mine are know they only have to ring me and gladly help out - early this year when bad weather first hit I managed to get to yard and had 10 to muck out etc lol cant say they were mucked out perfectly but all were fed watered hay and safe. I have a lovely girl who helos me out - she charges as its a business but its peanuts knowing if I cant get there she will look after mine as if they are her own and she as a 4x4 lol

I wasn't at it that long but it sure felt it!

Theres no water here on the yard, all frozen, so i had a bucket and 4 skips to water them all with!

Beats last year. We had NO water on the yard or in the house. Had to go into a village and use a fountain to get enough for everything between the horses, dogs, us and toilets... Doesn't bare thinking about!

taps frozen at my yard as well, but luckily a kettle or 2 of boiling water gets it going took hours today to do 7 stables and 18 water carriers wheel barrowed 3 at a time out to the field, that was after taking nearly an hour to break and clear all the ice out the troughs.
Gosh i am gonna be well muscled up and fit at the end of winter, trying to be positive as i have to go do it all again morrow and every day until the pipes defrost
