As some of you may know I went on two days of trekking, so here is my post about it!

Day 1:

I was assigned the lovely Rosie to ride and we were going to go to the Wyre Forest that day. Some roadwork to start off with but soon turned on a bridlepath leading into a small forest and being a main road I would have thought you could hear the traffic for some time but no perfect quiet! :) Around a little amble through it, we came to the most openest fields I have ever rode in (honestly it was like being in Norfolk with the size of the fields! :p) We had some really good canters inbetween fields and roadwork. Eventually we came to the start of the Wyre Forest and just followed various tracks in and around the place (and having some good blasts of course!). Stopped off for the pub meal (literally just outside the forest) for an hour before climbing back on board. The horses were all very bouncy when we re-mounted and this track that we were heading up was wide, straight and long so was just asking for a good blast! The instructor said take it easy but all of us including the horses (and the instructor!) knew differently and ended up racing each other! :D We carried on and came across loads of wildlife including a deer, before setting off back on roads and through fields to home again!

Day 2:

Rosie was yet again my horse for the day and we were setting off to the Chelmarsh Reservoir. Loads of fields, farm tracks, woodland and roads to get to it (plus the many hazards like crossing a very narrow bridge, gates, cows, loose horses in fields, caraven parks, villages, fords and this stepping over thing gate thing LOL!) We reached eventually reached it and having some great gallops in the fields! :D Stopped off again for a pub lunch (which was very nice indeed!), and then it happened - the heavens opened and we all got drenched! Luckily though we were only two hours away from home so didn’t have to be in the rain all afternoon. Had some very good gallops on the way home (by which point I was thoroughly soaked through; my coat, hat, my mobile phone and wallet was all drenched). Muttering away to Rosie that she was a saint etc... and that we would be home very soon :o we plodded on back home where a haynet for Rosie a cuppa for me were waiting for us!

It was 5 ½ hours in the saddle in each day with an hours stop in-between. I’ve got 7 injuries to – writing this now I’ve got an icepack on me LOL. Sorry if I rambled on and if the picture is huge (first time doing a picture on this forum!). The picture was taken on Day 2 halfway on the ride - it was a nice view and I wanted a piccie LOL :D
