Arrrrggghhh the futon (As featured in the first picture) is now in a BILLION pieces!!!
mad.gif

Bloomin' dogs!!

Went home at lunch to find Tinker cowering as he knew he'd done wrong - he was like "ooohhh sh1t" ... Finn was standing waggling his tail looking he was like "wwoohooo that was fun fun FUN"

3 bin liners of futon filling later, a nappy sack of Tinker sh1t and 2 puppies in cages with food and a very stressed and angry mother!!!
mad.gif

Anyone want them?

(Disclaimer - I am only joking re-rehoming!!)

Annoying thing is that naughty things only happen when they are BOTH out together - if Finn is out on his own he is an angel and sleeps... not sure about Tinker these days as he just sh1ts if he is left out alone now
mad.gif

Annoyingly yesterday I left Tinks in cage in the morning... no mess at lunch so let Tinks out with Finn for the afternoon - came home to a rug ripped to shreds... FORGOT this this morning so left both out and futon shredded when I got home
mad.gif

I think Tinker starts it and Finn joins in and finishes it!!
mad.gif

Soooo my question - at what age would a puppies jaws be strong enough to rip canvas type material? Bearing in min dhe has only just started loosing puppy teeth?

[/ QUOTE ]No I won't

Finn is 22 weeks... the problem is... it only happens when tinker is out with him, when he is alone NOTHING happens, NOTHING naughty occurs....

Me thinks Tinks is a bad influence!!
mad.gif

Aww poor Tinks, was Tinks destructive before Finn came?

20weeks -8 months dogs usually get destructive....teenage years I think!

[/ QUOTE ]NO NOT poor Tinks!! Yes he was destructive i.e he'd chew his bed/towels.. but NEVER would he have gone for the futon!!

Little s*it!!!

Answering your question their teeth would be strong enough from a weanling pup, dogs are designed to eat meat and are born with very strong teeth and jaws.

A friend had two springer pups who chewed through a concrete wall

[/ QUOTE ]I know!! I was seriusly contemplating not giving them any - however Finny is a growing boy and I felt I couldn't not give Tinks some when I know they were both 'in on the act'!!!

Ooops - naughty, naughty boys!! (Tinks picture cracks me up "who me?" butter wouldn't melt ... it would probably boil huh!)

Sorry no advice really, luckily Ki hasn't ever been a trasher, although he did have a stage of chewing the carpet by the door when left alone, it didn't last long and we used to leave him with a rawhide bone whenever we went out, this may help.

It does seem like the pair are egging each other on though doesn't it. I agree with not giving them any food in their cages when they have been bad, thats almost a reward I'm afraid
grin.gif

Hope you have a house left tomorrow!!

[/ QUOTE ]They have bones and toys at their disposal!! .. I honestly don't think Finn is a trasher.. think it's Tinker that trashes and Finn that thinks it's fun to join in after he original act!!

[/ QUOTE ]Yes I think Tinks eggs Finn on and then enjoys seeing him told off!! LOL!!

They were both chucked outside in the garden whilst I cleared up - both looking sorry for themselves.. I was sssoo close to not giving them food but figured they'd been shut ot for half hour after being shouted at and without and contact, attention/eyecontact/praise... straight into their cages to food!! Hmm I dunno!!
[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]Oh there will be - they are both caged from now on!!! Alternating WHO is trusted to come out and stay in their own!!!

[ QUOTE ]
I'll swap you those two for an early rising schnauzer. Although she did make it to 5am this morning!

[/ QUOTE ]LMAO!!! I think they should ALL go to dog borstal!!
wink.gif

[ QUOTE ]
Lol! No serious, she's a great dog *honest*

[/ QUOTE ]*narrows eyes* .. hmm I think I may just stick with mine..... for now!!!

Oh dear. I'm not laughing. Honestly! I had a GSD pup that ate a fridge door once. Don't be fooled by Finn's apparent good behaviour when left alone, he could very well be the ring leader, and certainly is probably very competitive. I would think your only answer would be to crate them both while they are alone. Maybe in the summer you can build an enclosed run with a kennel in the garden and leave them outside! Some dogs are destructive all their lives, and certainly some take a long time to outgrow it. I have lost track of all the coats, gloves etc Morgan has nibbled - not shredded, just enough to render them unusable. For the moment, try and get some old blankets or something from a charity shop, bedding that doesn't matter if it gets shredded. I buy very cheap sleeping bags from Argos, the filling is usually pulled out but they do last and they are easy to wash. You may have to replace them fairly often for the next few months!

[/ QUOTE ]Thanks sooty - I do feel Finn is as much to blame... it's all so exciting - however Tinker too is to blame as he KNOWS when he is naughty as he cowers before you've seen the damage/deed!! ... he's weird as he cowers yet has never been hit/slapped by us!!

They are on old towels... Finn's are perfectly intact.. Tinkers have holes/no binging.. infact they are just shreds!! In which he has to lie on as I am not getting him anymore!!
mad.gif

I bought them both polypads for Xmas.. Finn has his to sleep on at night - Tinks can't be trusted to not pull out the stuffing so can only have his when supervised!!!

Naughty boys! ah the joys of doggydom! Too busy laughing, sorry.

Boston has done the bin bag trick, he steals them from the garage, or worse the drive on garbage day, and there is rubbish EVERYWHERE! He knows he's been naughty because he runs back to the dumping ground, opens the door and puts himself in his crate
smile.gif
Rip on the other hand likes to BRING me gifts, a whole deers head the other day (in front of visitors)

I wish the poachers would butcher their carcasses further away from us.
