Currently at my (own yard) i have 2 stallions, a gelding (who was cut 6 months ago) and a 4yo mare.

My Mare and Newly cut gelding have been going out next to each other for a week just seperated by electric fencing as i am hoping they will be able to start going out together.

The thing is i have a feeling they are going to get attached. The mare calls to the gelding all the time now and they are not even in the same field.

Is there anything i can do to not let them get attached? Should i keep them seperated?

Is it a problem if they get attached? As long as it doesn't become annoying for you it will be nice for them to be friends I would have thought - my two are turned out together and are very keen to see each other in the morning when I put them both out (my retired one gets shut in his shelter for the night and my ridden one comes into the yard) but its never caused a problem riding - my boy will quite happily ride away from his retired friend and the retired one couldn't give two hoots!
