2 out of 3 ain't bad right?!! :D

Not been to horseheath before for a BE so thought as its local to me i'd give it a bash!! Here's how my day went....

It didn't get off to the best of starts when my studs refused to behave, eventually got him studded and headed over to the dressage!! Upon arrival at the collecting ring I wandered about aimlessly probably looking completely lost thankfully the BE80 trainer who just so happened to be my sj instructor came to the rescue and began to warm us up, beanz was alot more relaxed than at AUW so with the aim of keeping him supple and relaxed we headed into the arena, the test worked in our favor as there was no full centre line or free walk which aren't our best moves!! He remained relaxed throughout the test so I was pleased and somewhat shocked to get a 34!!! Good ponio!! :D

On to the 'wonderful' phase that is sj.... Would Boris the animal make an appearance???? Thankfully once again Barry (BE80 trainer!) was there to warm us up.... Might employ him to be there for every event!!! :P so into the ring of death we went now the first 6 or so fences went by without much of a hitch.... Fence 7 was a bit dodgy and by fence 8 Boris had reminded me that we were in fact digging to Australia not jumping a sj round, so I buried the poor pony most of the way to China, by fence 9 I decided we should really make it to Australia so I buried him some more at this point I'm pretty sure beanz was suitably embarrassed and thus took control for the final element and got us home.... With 2 down! I am annoyed I let him down he could have told me to jog on at the end of the course but he didn't.... Damn it Boris won that round hey-ho off to xc we go!!

Now this course was by far the beefiest and most colourful we have attempted, there was an alternative at the ditch and a mahooosive boat out of the water but of course the bean machine was a complete machine and made absolutely nothing of the course to fly round clear with just 4.4 tf :D what a little legend!! Straight over the ditch and the boat!! Such a little super 🌟 :)
We finished on a final score of 46.4 and 17th one of these days all 3 phases will go right on the same day but a much improved dressage score and flying xc round is all I need to make me smile for the next week!!!

Onwards and upwards with Keysoe next on our list!!

A few pics of my very cute pony doing his thing!!!

Well done! That sounds like a similar day to my last event, we always manage to have 2 really pleasing phases and 1 frustrating one!

Good luck at your next event! :)

Oh fab, well done. Looks like quite a meaty xc course from those pics. Great to have someone help you warm up. I read that they have trainers at each event for the 80T to help out so I plan to make full use of em.

Yes :)

Really well done, I know how hard it is to get three things right on one day!

thats the challenge of eventing eh?! its a juggling act really!!

Lovely horse well done good start to the season.
thank you, i have to keep reminding myself that a) hes mine, all mine!! and b) he still only 6 so has it all to come yet!!! super excited about his future!!

last week we had a not so great dressage score and double clear so at least we are improving on different phases!! haha thanks, best of luck if your competing too!!!

oh it was meaty..... most of the fences were wiiiiiiiiddddddddeeeeee!!! and some were very brightly coloured!! I did stop standing side on to the fences when walking the course by like fence 5 i was like i dont want to see its width anymore!! but now we have done it i know that 80 fences arent an issue so we should be fine for the rest of the season right?!! :D definitely use the trainers if they are about, i was lucky in the fact this trainer knows me and my horse so he knew exactly what works for us and i wasnt scared to approach him, some of them ive been a bit worried about asking for help and one was quite rude so now i avoid him if i know hes going to be there! Most are lovely though and can answer any questions..... Barry didnt answer me when i asked if he wanted to ride my sj round though... RUDE!!! :D

i was there yesterday with a friend who was competing a young horse and we also had a great day. the course was very well built and a good introduction to eventing, lovely venue, very friendly and you could see most of the cc course without having to run around. well worth a visit IMO....nice and local to me as well

Woww hes gorgeous. Well done. Cna i ask what height this was and how big your horse is? Would love to get my 14.1 out doing this, but his flat isnt that great.

thanks hes a bit of a dude!! this was the 80 and hes 16.1hh still a baby though so we wont be stepping up until he has gained some more experience :) there were lots of 13.2/14.2s going round :)

OP I think the least they can do is hop on and take your horse round. Quite rude not to, haha. Hopefully all 80s from now on will seem teeny tiny! I'm sticking to a nice ahem, easy, run at Munstead in Sept.

Well done. You certainly faired better than me, I managed to get all 3 phrases wrong! But I'm clinging to the fact it was our first outing this year.
I too was amazed at the wiiiiddddttthhhh of some of the XC fences.
Would like to know who is the rude BE 80 trainer? I have one that I try and avoid too. PM me if you prefer.
I walked the SJ course with Barry. One girl said she felt sick at the size of number 7.He was so lovely, so helpful and positive. Bet he is great fun as an instructor

Haha I know right!!! There's no such thing as an easy run its all a challenge in one way or another, I'm sure you will be great!!

The first run is out of the way now so you know what to work on, that's the way I see it!! Tina ure does build bold courses I should have known that I've ridden round little Downham enough times but they did still catch me by surprise when walking the course!! Rode lovely though!! :D

It was Michael paverly (or how ever u spell his name!!) he completely ignored me when I asked for help at poplar Park and yesterday he was nowhere to be seen, Barry did a grand job in the dressage and sj by himself, he's a credit to whole trainer section of the BE80! And yes he's great fun as an instructor knows when to push you and how far!!

You have TWO colour integrated P2s? Or is that just how your jacket is sitting? Impressed anyway, lovely pix.
