Morning everyone.
These are my 2 youngsters, top one is a appaloosa cross stand 13.2/3 (rising 2) other is a cob also standing 13.3 (rising 3)

They are still on plenty of grazing and currently being fed just a cheap chaff 1 hand full a day with a carrot. Appaloosa x is weighing in at 339kg and cob weighing in at 408kg. Both out 24/7 naked.
I was just wondering if people would say they are weighing in about right for breed/age/hight or if you would recommend changing the diet or them loosing some weight.

Thank you.

In the pics, weight wise they look fine though judging by the vegetation and weather it doesnt look like November! Only thing I would think about is adding something like Pro Balance for minerals. Might help the grass bellies as well.

They look fine, I don't believe slimming them untill mid March to make them less susceptible to laminitis.
I like to feed plain sugar beet with some salt and some minerals, and micronised linseed.

No defiantly not November in photos they were both taken on the 7th October.

I wouldn't want any more condition on them and they look ok for the time of year(too fat if it was spring!!). I would contact the feed companies and find a balancer suitable for youngstock and just feed that for now and only give speedibeet or similar if they lose a lot of weight. they look like lovely types, good luck with them...

I agree, they look fine for this time of year but I wouldn't want to feed them up anymore. I would stick with your chaff and go out and buy either a good balancer or supplement (personally I prefer a decent supplement) I use equimins tip top, it's very comprehensive... It's what I used with my boy. You don't need to worry about buying a youngstock product... At 2 + your horses should be feed the same as an adult. If I recall correctly, you can just up the amount for your youngster who is rising two, but once they hit 48 months, you feed them the same as an adult of that height.
