In the Times this morning it said that badminton and rythmic gymnastics are being relocated to Wembly to save £20 million for devolping a stadium in North greenwich, which will have to be taken down after the event at great waste of money...... this of course means the idea of a compact games with all the athletes close at hand is taking a bit of a battering as even with the best will in the world the journey is at least 45 minutes.
the link is below as does this sound like something else a lot closer to our horsey hearts? perhaps we need to wonder again if LOGOE know something we dont about the equestrian events as they are apparently so vigorously pursuing their greenwich plan for those which will waste rather a lot more money. i believe the last estimate for the equestrian site and logistics (dont forget the test event in 2011) was £48 milion at the last count....

Exactly what most of us seem to have been asking? Really don't undertand the logic of spending a small fortune on equestrian facilities which will be temporary when we could invest in another new first class competition venue somewhere within striking distance of London or, better still, put it into redeveloping an existing venue Windsor would be perfectly convenient for 2012.

well the organisers keep saying they want a compact games with everyone ithin a few miles of the village. Until of course they need to change a venue for their own reasons.
