Got home after a hard day's slog in Milton Keynes to find a letter on the mat from BE. I thought it must be a circular or something but oh no, it's a letter saying that the Malingerer, he who will do whatever it takes to avoid work and stress his mother out (aka Baydale Hector), is on the 2012 World Class Equine Pathway list. *faints*

Words failed me, but not for long obviously (brevity, as those who have read my posts, is not my strong point).

I rang my parents, my best friend, his breeder, text everyone on my phone pretty much.....this was after a big glass of red wine so goodness knows if I made any sense to any of them.

It sounds like they put their new criteria into their pooter at BE and, out of the 12,000 horses registered in BE in 2007, little H met those criteria and therefore the pooter said yes, and H is on the list for a one year period. When I'm sober I shall read and inwardly digest what the lazy beggar has to do to STAY on the list.....

Wow! Brilliant stuff, esp for his breeder! Whatever you do though don't tell him, he will just malinger more from what I've heard of him! Someone down the road from me has a 6yo on it, think so far it's mostly consisted of training/progress evaluation days, but think it's good if you need to find vet/physio.farrier etc, and presumabley steps up a gear the higher up the levels the horse goes/closer to the Olympics we get.... Massive congratulations again!

What a result, well done you (and H too of course!) not forgetting the breeder who made it all possible from the start; they must be cocker hoop!

Can I send Joey and Spring down to you then, they might just make it to 2028 if they try?!

Indulge tonight, you can have a headache tomorrow!

Wow CONGRATULATIONS !!! How exciting!

BUT you do realise that we are now going to be expecting reports/photos of every training session/comps that Hector does?!

Oh Nicky a HUGE well done from me

Whilst yes, the breeders made it possible, it is YOU that has moulded the raw talent into something that is worth looking at - good for you, enjoy your wine

Thanks everyone.

Bonita it's a way of finding horses that may be potential Olympic horses, whether they're with top riders or not (as in my case).

t_e no way am I going to tell him. Perhaps if I kid him by telling him Humungahorse is on the list and he's not, then he might stop bloomin' malingering and get all competitive?

There is some training at Addington with Tracie Robinson, Peter Murphy and Lizzie Murray that I could go to C_D. Will make sure I have camcorder girl (my mate April) with me then.

Off to bed now Pat, my headache and I are going hunting tomorrow. OH is field master so I am there to hiss handy hints at him (simple ones, like "kick harder" and "slip your reins"!)
Joey and Spring are more than welcome to come and stay btw.

Wow, that's brill!!! well done!!!!!
I think you get loads of support about where and when to run your horse, and what sort of things to be doing with him too.. that and it'll also up his value in a big way too!!
Well Done again!!!

Maybe if I keep threatening to sell him to someone less understanding he'll change his malingering attitude?
