After deciding to give up breeding a few months ago, ive since had some lovely comments on my youngsters. So, thought id carry on. Fortunately husband is very supportive. So here we go again !

Took both mares for a quick check and scan. We had seen Aria come into season this week, and vets confirmed a decent CL. Wanted semen today. So fortunately managed to get that sorted. But, on scanning her the vet found a decent amount of blood, que panic that she had a rectal lining tear. So antibiotics to stop an infection, which could have led to peritonitis/death.. Semen arrived and vet says its like rocket fuel. Vets updating me twice a day, and Aria is all good, no blood in poo at all. They cant scan her until shes ready for a heart beat scan now, just to give a tear chance to heal. Going forward she will need to be slightly sedated for scanning so she doesnt push against it.
Chosen a nice little connie again, as i really like the cross with Aria. Im thinking this will be her last foal ( if she actually catches )

Pip, was her usual self, very chilled. Weirdly excited about going into the stocks. Looks as though we have missed her probably last week, but she never shows. So shes going back next Thursday. She will be going to another pure ID, but still struggling to choose.

Anyone else planning any ?

Good luck! I'd love to have another, but I'm going to have to wait another couple of years for finances to improve sadly. Unless the perfect broodmare happened to come along….. 🫣

If our girlie recovers well from her difficult birth this week, then we probably will go again. But will give her a bit of time first. She has generally taken quite quickly, so not panicking too much on timing.
We have a credit with the stud from the foal we lost, so we could either go with same stallion (frozen only, as he sadly died last summer) or choose another. Stud is sending a catalogue across anyway, so will have a ponder.

After some sterling advice we have decided on our stallion, order placed just waiting to get the girl over to the stud and ready to rock. Shes an ISH of unknown breeding who produced a lovely filly for us in Apr 24 by a pure tb (flat racer). We've gone for Duplexx (thanks @ihatework ) it will be the last one we breed so wanted to give our little dream of BYEH a good crack

Oohh ! Exciting . Hope all goes well .

We took 2nd mare into be scanned again today . Plan was to PG her based on last weeks scan . turned out that wasn’t required . She was in season with a large 50CL ! Queue panic we needed semen this afternoon. A quick call to the stud , and I had to drive over and collect semen . Got back at 3.30, she was insemminated straight away , fortunately hadnt ovulated . Semen checked and was good stuff . So fingers crossed she ovulates over night 🤞
