28? Is this responsible?

No. Poor thing is probably destined to be passed around or end up at the market. IMHO it is better to PTS than to pass along free, unless of course it is to a friend you know well.

Nice. That pony has given 14 years of its life to these people and they begrudge it the price of a bullet. Sorry if that sounds brutal but what do they think will happen to a 28 year old that they have to advertise? Fair enough if you know someone personally who will take the pony on as a companion or whatever but this kind of thing makes my blood boil!

Bless her she looks a sweetie:( Makes me wish I owned my grazing - I would go and get her just to give her a last comfy home). I have a 26yo and if I could not keep her I know we would PTS. Mine is retired but there was a 40yo:eek:at pony club when my daughter was small and he still came and did lead rein classes with tiny jockeys. He went on local loan to known families as a first 100% pony. Just shows they can lead a useful life but need kind informed homes. Poor little pony.

Very sad. I've sent an email, hopefully whoever it is will come to their senses before this poor mare is passed on. What a way to reward your horse for her 14 years of service! This kind of behaviour is truly disgusting.

dealer!
feel so sorry for the poor mare, just backs up my feelings that some humans are unkind and dont deserve the kindness of animals. I need to win the lottery so i can afford enough land to take on all these animals that people dont want any more.

please dont have a go at me but if the horse is still rideable it could be lovly for a young lightweight teenager to learn how to look after and compete at a very low level for a few years before being pts.
i do think it is irrisponseble for the owner to have the horse for 14 years and then not keep looking after but i can understand money problems but retirement livery can be very cheap and a bullet isnt to much either.

i t doesnt say wheather it can be ridden but i might be competely wrong
