28 YR OLD MARE LOGISTICS FOR FRIDAY

LOL....just goes to show you eh?
As my nan used to say.....Like a week old doughnut-rock hard on the outside, squidgy and soft in the middle.
.....hmm think we may have signed our own death warrants there!

Just a thought but why don't the people who are going to bid on Friday ask to speak to the auctioners and tell them what they are going to do. They might be very happy to help if only by letting you know how much they would expect to get for the horse and who the dealers are. If you also made it quite clear that we don't hold them responsible and about all the talk on this very public forum it could be to our advantage. Are there any auctioners who would like to comment?

The owner of that poor old lady needs to named and shamed nasty hateful old cow, I cant print what I really think of her though!.:(

You don't know the full story. Maybe the owner has died and the executors are selling the horse as they have no idea what else to do with her???

As we know, people's circumstances change all the time..... who knows the reason why the mare is for sale, but maybe it's for the best all round.

and most notably, it's helped greatly by someone who the forum villifies on an almost weekly basis..

I dont post on here very often but I would just like to say what a lovely thing you are all doing. I occasionally go to the horse sale and spotted her advertised in the catalogue so was trying to get a day off work.
If anything falls through I would be delighted to take her on and give her a forever home, im only 40 minutes away from York and unfortunately last week I had to have my old faithful horse put to sleep so im looking for a companion for my 27year old Fell pony. Im happy to pay for her and she'll be spoilt rotten for the rest of her days

Any joy getting this potential home for her sorted? You've all gone quiet on me!

Jess-don't panic!!
A guaranteed home at EMW and maybe even one closer to 'home'-Yorkshire if things go well.
Either way by Friday if everything goes to plan Rosie will be a HHO Pony with a long and happy retirement ahead of her.

I find it quite sad that many of those who were most outspoken when slating HHO the other day have been noticeable on this thread by their absence. In fact they may have a point about it being better in the old days as most, definitely not all but most, of the posters on here, helping out, pulling together, have been here two years or more.

Additional donation on it's way to EMW either for help with Rosie or wherever it can be best used.

Kiss22 has kindly got in touch with myself and EMW and is being homechecked on Friday evening...assuming all goes well and Rosie is secured at York.

Thank You Kiss22

I know, it does seem a shame that those who were upset haven't, presumably, seen this side of HHO and the passion that people do feel for horses and more importantly the welfare of horses rather than the "perfection" of the environment they live and their horses live in.

And a big welldone to Kiss22 for stepping up to the mark and here's hoping the homecheck goes swimmingly.

yeah same girl x

My eyes are welling up reading all these replies. I hope everything goes to plan and this mare spends the rest of her days in the lap of horse luxury. Good luck to everyone involved in the plan.

Im a bit of a technophobe (old) can someone tell me how and where to donate to help this old girl to a good life.
My own old mare is 27 and i couldnt bear the thought of anything like this happening to her, so im donating in her name :o

She has been withdrawn

Quote from the EMW facebook page

The mare is now secured and will not be auctioned at all. EMW are 100% confident that her future is very safe. Please contact us if you have donated towards this mare as we are now refunding but say a big thank you to everyone for stepping up to the mark when things were not so sure.

Had an email from York saying her lot had been withdrawn.

Great news and congrats to all involved.

EMW really needs a bigger profile - anything we can do to with getting the word out?!

And for those that were willing to help out with this little mare, but still have room at home - perhaps pay a visit today and give a good home to some of the lovely youngsters that go through this sale? Many genuine lots that go for nothing to less than knowledgeable homes........

:)

I rarely post on this board but read it all the time. It's been emotional reading in the last few days! I'm amazed by everyone's efforts and want to congratulate everyone that's doing such a great thing by Rosie.

I'm too far away to do much to help, but wish Rosie and the HHO lot luck and i'll be making a donation as soon as i get paid!

x

I donated but definitely don't want a refund thanks - it can remain as a thank you for getting your fingers out to help this mare and hopefully will help some other poor unfortunate!
