We went to Allens Hill yesterday to do our first ever Novice BD tests. We've only ever done one Novice test before unaff, and this was our 2nd BD, so was a bit nervous again.
It was so hot, more humid than anything, so we were allowed to compete without our jackets (thank the lord
). Victor was fab, absolutely NO spooking
but was a little flat in the 2nd test as he doesn't cope with the heat at all.
1st test, Novice 22, went well except broke in the first counter canter, which was annoying as this never happens at home, but thats part of comps I suppose. Also found out after that the judge was a lecturer from college and he marks very harshly. But need not have worried as got 64.something and 3rd place out of about 12
So very happy! And said judge came and spoke after and said what a fab horse he will be
2nd test, Novice 38, was ok, but just didn't have enough petrol in the tank........interval training starts tomorrow
so got 62.14% and 4th place out of about 12 again.
So I was very very pleased!
Loved the place, especially as everyone was so friendly wishing us luck and congratulating us after
No pics I'm afraid as I forgot the camera, whoops, so here is what he looks like at home....
